This comprehensive 5-day course is designed for personnel involved in hazardous material (HazMat) emergency response, equipping them with both theoretical knowledge and practical field skills in line with NFPA 1072 standards.
Participants will learn to respond safely and effectively to chemical releases, spills, and leaks — from identification to containment and decontamination.

Upon completion, participants will be able to:

• Identify and classify hazardous materials using the Emergency Response Guidebook (ERG).

• Understand the A.P.I.E. Response Model (Analyze, Plan, Implement, Evaluate).

• Recognise hazard classes and exposure routes in industrial environments.

• Apply risk-based response strategies and perform scene size-up effectively.

• Operate safely within the Incident Command System (ICS) framework.

• Use and maintain Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including Levels A–D and Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA).

• Perform decontamination procedures, including gross, technical, emergency, and mass decon.

• Execute product control operations, such as spill containment, leak control, vapour suppression, and remote shut-off.

• Manage victim rescue operations and triage in HazMat scenarios.

• Conduct hazard monitoring, detection, and sampling using various instruments.

• Participate in simulation drills and incident management exercises, applying all response phases from analysis to termination.
