By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Identify various lithium-ion powered devices and EV battery types.
- Understand battery construction, potential fire hazards, and toxic gas emissions.
- Assess fire risks and select the appropriate extinguishing methods.
- Utilise the correct fire extinguishers, fire blankets, and suppression systems.
- Operate personal protective equipment (PPE) including SCBA and fire suits.
- Perform gas detection using LEL and multi-gas meters.
- Apply proper donning and doffing procedures for SCBA and fire suits.
- Implement EV Emergency Response Guidelines (ERG) and incident command systems.
- Coordinate effective team-based emergency response operations.
- Execute safe firefighting and exposure protection techniques for EV-related fires.
