Completing the course, participants will be able to:
- Identify different types of Li ions powered devices and EV batteries.
- Understand battery construction, fire hazards, and toxic gas emissions.
- Assess fire risks and determine appropriate extinguishing methods.
- Utilize the right fire extinguisher, fi re blanket, and suppression systems.
- Operate personal protective equipment (PPE) including SCBA and fire suits.
- Perform gas detection using LEL meters.
- Execute the correct donning and doffing procedures for SCBA and fire suits.
- Apply EV Emergency Response Guidelines (ERG) and command structure.
- Coordinate an effective response within a team based incident command system.
- Conduct exposure protection and firefighting techniques in EV fire scenarios.

Participants are required to have attended Basic Occupational Firefighting Training. Experience with using Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) is highly recommended.
