About the Training

This course provides delegates with an introduction to identifying the occupational health and safety hazards of their company’s process & workplace, the actual or potential risks and how to minimize risks through a systematic approach. Training includes the importance of carrying out HIRARC and when it needs to be conducted.

Program Objectives / Outcomes

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the different types of hazards that present in the workplace
  • Identify hazards in the workplace effectively
  • Understand the main occupational hazard groups and the health risks that certain workplace hazards pose
  • Evaluate the risks associated with the identified hazards and make recommendations on eliminating or reducing the risks of these hazards
  • Determine the appropriate hazards control measures and assess the effectiveness of the control measures taken
  • Appreciate the importance of the hazards identification process as a means to avoid accidents in the workplace
